Symposium on synchrotrons and lasers for structural systems biology
A symposium on synchrotrons and lasers for structural systems biology will be held in Hamburg, Germany on 16 April.
International experts in the field of the use of synchrotron radiation in biological research will present their point of view, and the event will also feature presentations from representatives of major funding agencies as well as industry representatives.
Items on the programme include a tour of the DESY facilities, a presentation of funding opportunities under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and talks on biological research with 3rd generation synchrotron sources, protein structure analysis at high-throughput scale, and x-ray diffractive imaging of cells.
The symposium will be followed on 17 and 18 April by the 4th BIOXHIT Annual Meeting. The topics covered are crystallisation technology, synchrotron beamlines, beamline endstations and data collection, data processing and structure determination, databases and networking, training, implementation and dissemination. The meeting is open to all interested participants.
